At the moment these trucks are still under warranty. However this transmission problem shows up right away with the average reported mileage only around 3, miles, so for now the Silverado earns our "Beware of the Clunker" badge.
If your transmission can't last longer that 2 years and 4 months you shouldn't be in the car business!! I am a big GM fan and have several GM vehicles and trucks.
Over the years GM's engine and transmissions have been the best Ditto to everything folks are reporting. When starting in the morning it will do one of three things: run normally, hesitate and then race or jump ahead, or chunk and thunk like it really doesn't want to go to work.
Changed fluids per GM recommendations. I have not had the higher speed issues, but it is definitely not right and definitely not up to GM standards. Recently have had the check engine light coming on and it is throwing a torque converter error code Taking in next week for further examination and a potential reeming!!!!Dell r720 max hard drive size
I fully expected to get the same run around everyone else is getting so I have not bothered to take it in. Figured it would run or break. Now that it is throwing a code, dealer has something to go by. Dealer is aware of the issues with this transmission and hopefully will make it right. Since my truck had miles on it. It always jerks and shifts hard.
I have brought it in to the dealer about 6 times and they never find anything! The problem continues and I fully expect next oil change visit they will magically find the non warranty issue.
Stranded in Kansas City at a Dealership on Saturday afternoon. It can be a very jarring feeling when your Chevy Silverado shakes when at idle. It can feel like the whole thing is going to vibrate to death with you in it.
If your Silverado has this problem, there are many issues that can cause it. There are a lot of reasons why your Silverado may shake when idle. If it is, get the trouble codes. You can get a code scanner really cheap. Alternatively, most auto parts stores also provide the scan free of charge.
Vibration While Driving
The ignition system is responsible for burning the air fuel mixture that enters the combustion chamber. If a good spark is not achieved, your Silverado will shake as it misfires and tries to stay running.
Here are the main components of the ignition system, as well as what would cause them to make your Silverado shake when idling. This vacuum is carefully controlled. If the vacuum system gets a leak, it will cause a shake when idle. A vacuum leak can be caused by a bad vacuum hose, intake manifold gasket, and other vacuum powered accessories.
Diagnosing a vacuum leak can be tricky. If they wear out, it can cause it to shake when idle. You should also feel the shaking more in gear than when you are in park. It would also feel a little wobbly as the gears are shifted. An engine misfire is the most common cause of a shaking idle, and as the engine stumbles and misfires, that should be seen in the tachometer as a drop in RPM. If the timing belt or chain has jumped a tooth, the camshaft s and crank will no longer be lined up properly.
If this happens it can cause the idle characteristics to change. It could be so clogged that there is not enough air getting through for proper idle conditions. Of all the sensors equipped in your vehicle, the O2 sensors may have it the hardest.
They deal with super hot exhaust that can cover them in deposits that can leave them ineffective. If an oxygen sensor goes bad, it can make your Silverado run too lean or rich. A super lean running engine will often shake when idling. The mixture would be wrong at all RPM, but as the engine speed increases the shaking decreases. We know, advertisements are annoying and slow down the internet.

The shaking persisted and the plaintiff returned to the store months later.
GM pointed to other cases where lawsuits were tossed out as plaintiffs made assumptions about vehicles he or she never owned. The pending lawsuit alleges the aluminum driveshafts are the source of the issue in the vehicles and cause the shaking. Only a custom-made steel driveshaft fixes the problem, per the documents. The plaintiff and the class-action lawsuit argue for reimbursement for out-of-pocket repairs.

Do Ford trucks have this problem? I have a Colorado that vibrates at different speeds. The dealer replaced the torque converter stating GM has had problems with this vibration in Canyons and Colorados in Florida and Texas. Something about the oil inside the converters. After replacement the problem was solved for about four months. It has started again and I have to make an appointment with the dealer to address the same problem a second time.
It was discovered that that new fluid caused quite a few issues in a lot of vehicles GM was just the first to start using it.
This is your issue. The new fluid will fix the shudder for good. The previous fluid fluid available up until a few months ago had an issue with moisture absorption that would cause the torque converter clutch to shudder.
Had my 15 Sierra well over these speeds many times and have zero vibrations. My dad has a 15 Silverado with the V6 and has no issues either. Sometimes I think people just want to complain about something. I had a Silverado with the exact same issue. Dealers told me I would have to pay for a road force balance. I called corporate too. Some things are often misunderstood about recalls and technical service bulletins TSBs.

See all recalls for the Chevrolet Silverado See reliability data for the Chevrolet Silverado Recalls do not have to be issued only because something is prone to failure. NHTSA a government agency can only require a recall if a failure will affect safety, emissions, fuel economy, or compliance with some other regulation or law.
Manufacturers can voluntarily recall cars for problems that do not affect these, though. Recalls often apply to only some cars of a specific model year, rather than all of them. You should receive a letter from the manufacturer if your car has been recalled. You can also check with the dealer, which will know which if any recalls pertain to your car.
The primary purpose of TSBs is to inform dealers about known problems with a car and how to fix them. They are not the same as recalls.
As with recalls, TSBs often only apply to some cars, not the entire model year. Dealers often will not provide a preventive repair just because a problem described in a TSB might happen to your car. They'll usually want to observe symptoms that the problem is already affecting your car. Even if there are symptoms, a manufacturer doesn't have to pick up the cost of a TSB repair if the car is out of warranty, though sometimes they do.

I have seen in past forums this is a continuous problem however, we rented the exact same model at a rental place in California and there was not an issue at all! Is there a solution??? Join the discussion.

Should I get fluid Doing this procedure? The issue started when I could not easily remove the threaded hex nut line.
The other 3 lines came off easily. What can I do to fix it? Since my suburban has the auto 4wd system it will not going into 4wd, so I need to get it fixed. I haven't even begun to check it out, except for glancing at a reflection of my left turn signals as I'm driving. It appears that the front is working and the back is not. It blinks normal speed on the right side, but twice as fast on the left.
Is this because the rear light appears to beThe pick-up has a rough idle when hot. No error code but definitely shaky at low rpm. Dealer can't do anything because the is no code!!!
2017 Suburban Rough Idle
Bought vehicle as a trade from the Canyon. Dealer drove vehicle from out of State. At an idle the rpm needle would move. Technicians said it was a new vehicle and the higher altitude and fuel in Colorado was cause. Vehicle had miles on it when I first got it. Vehicle has about 7, miles and still idles rough while rpm gauge moves. Service Manager said I am using the wrong fuel and that the injectors misfired. The reset the code to which I have never had a light come on to begin with.
I am running a 6. First noticed the vibration at delivery Januarybut dismissed it as cheap gas the dealer provided and the cold winter temperatures.Klze straight neck
After about 1k miles tolerance for the vibration reached its peak. I took to the dealer, to which they quickly dismissed since it was not throwing a code or misfiring. They even did a vibration test using a meter and said it was the truck's designed harmonics I was feeling. Total BS I have a had few brand new trucks in my life I took the truck to a different dealer at 3k miles. They too noticed the vibration, but since was not throwing a code, unable to fix.
This new dealership even went as far as pulling in exact copy of my truck from their lot only had 3 miles on it and showed me that truck vibrated as well.Vlmcsd guide
I guess it really is a design issue. Needless to say, I am voicing my opinion to GM and will never buy another vehicle from them again. This truck was 55k out-the-door. It's slight, but no new 50k plus car should run like that. It's annoying and I think going to increase engine wear. Took it to the dealer who said "that's just the way they are," caused be the electronics trying to squeeze the engine for max fuel economy.
I call "BS! Hopefully they'll fix it.At the moment these trucks are still under warranty. However this transmission problem shows up right away with the average reported mileage only around 3, miles, so for now the Silverado earns our "Beware of the Clunker" badge. My reg.
The dealer has had 4 attempts at fixing it. There is also a noise associated with the vibration. They have changed tires twice,Force Balanced tires, replaced one wheel, a shock, Driveshaft and ,universal joints, and Yoke at differential.
Besides the console shaking, I feel it in the seat. Feels like an old Hotel Bed, the ones you put the quarter in. The problem was better, but started to come back as time went on. The Dealer says they know what it is, and refuse to give me the info. They also did a vibration test on driveshaft which they say is now in GM specs. I am still not satisfied so am claiming Michigan Lemon Law.
I Have had "Last Chance " letter sent by an attorney. When I took the truck in, one of the Service Advisors stated that there was a Bulletin on replacing the motor mounts. No one else knew that, I sure have heard my share of BS. I have been way too nice to them, but I treat everyone with respect, even if they don't know how to handle the situation.
So what has happened to Customer Satisfaction.Worst laundry detergent
I have learned that the Dealer is not the one to try to get the problem resolved. I have learned that the Phone Number and Address in the back of the Manual, is to the Manufacturer, and they need to be informed of the Problem. So I guess this has been going on for about 3 years. It made me sick to see on Youtube, all the problems just like mine. This is going to be a complete buyback from GM. I still have an 8ft.How to fix a rough idle part 2
Leer Cap for Sale, I need to get rid of it before returning the truck. I misspoke about the Bank helping me. They did not. I have also talked with a couple peopleone who used to work in the transmission plantand one who is an engineer for GM. They both said it was something with the computer and trans not communicating properly, and that is what is causing " A Shudder".
I feel it may be more than that. They have done very little to nothing to help resolve my problem.
